On 6 August, the Tehran ICH Centre held an online meeting with NGOs active in the area of ICH in the framework of the “Expert Meeting on Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) and Social Responsibility in the Face of Natural Disasters”.
The online meeting was aimed at raising awareness on the role of NGOs in safeguarding ICH and using the power of ICH to combat the adverse effects of climate change on communities. Experiences were exchanged between the NGOs and the ICH staff members on building-resilience in the face of Natural Disasters using ICH.
As a result of this short brain-storming session, a number of the participating NGOs expressed interest in attending an upcoming expert meeting on 13 August 2023 on “Meeting on Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) and Social Responsibility in the Face of Natural Disasters”. Interested NGOs attended the event both online and in person, based on their availability in Tehran, the venue of the expert meeting.
