Summary Report:
On May 12, 2024, the Regional Research Centre for Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage in West and Central Asia under the Auspices of UNESCO—commonly known as the Tehran ICH Centre—commenced the meticulously orchestrated Information Session focusing on the Implementation of the 2003 Convention tailored specifically for Governmental Policy- and Decision-makers. The grandeur of Niavaran Palace served as a fitting backdrop for this notable event, graced by the presence of eminent governmental Policy- and Decision-makers. Envisioned as a key component within the Action Plan outlined during the 5th Governing Council meeting of the Tehran ICH Centre, the essence of this gathering was to possibly extend its beneficial impact to the nations across the West and Central Asian Region, thereby optimising the implementation of the 2003 UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in these countries by further raising the awareness of policy-makers and decision-making bodies.
